And so, I have finally worked my luddite way through this maze of files and instructions to present some results of my passion. So much easier it is for me to create and handcraft jewellery pieces than it is for me to post the fruits of my labour.
Crafty by nature, I seek to exhaust my need to create by beading and threading all the gorgeous semi precious beads I can get my hands on. What better way to share the treasures of my eyesight-killing, anti-social and obssessive pastime?
Out of sheer desperation to create, I chose a medium I am most familiar with, and one closest to every girl's heart - that of adornment. Necklaces, bracelets and rings fashioned out of semi precious stones, pearls, precious metals....deliciously weighty and sparkling. Never one to walk the straight and narrow path, I am compelled to make my creations 'multi task'. A lariat that doubles up as a belt, a necklace that can be disengaged into 2 to become a shorter necklace and a bracelet.
Never a fan of the conventional, the colours and gems I choose depend on the mood I am in when I sit down to create - often deep, dark and sombre but always with some contrasting sparkle and brilliance in them, sometimes bright and candy-coloured impishly fun and less serious.
